hi all.
i now this might sound stupid but i always think about stupid things.

i want to put a dump valve on my stilo 1.9 JTD

my car is standard exept a few tuning mods in the engine bay, so its runniing about 165 bhp

can anyone just say, what dump valve can i put on the car and would it effect the performance.

cheers Chrisssss:slayer::slayer:

Haha lmfao dump valve extremely pointless and will just make you sound like a d**k

And secondly I highly doubt a pretty much standard jtd will be running 165bhp lol

oh and tiiissssssssssshhhhhhhhh innit lmao

well its not standard under the bonet u ass. you know 115 bhp standard, so i must have done something to id to make it 165bhp
well its fast for a diesel, and will be going up to about 200 bhp ish soon with one mod.

yer i now it would be stupid but i been looking on utube on turbo diesel dump valve and they sound good, not as good as a petrol but still worth putting one on to see.

so if you have any knowledge of this then comment so i can try it

well its easy enough after you have a look on the net, well i put a chip on it. not a normal chip its a well wierd one. and changed the fuel consumpion on it. then added a magnet to the fuel filter, sounds rfeally easy and it is.
that made it to 165 bhp
now with a bit of tweeking and a bigger intercooler in the middle of the bumper then it should be really close to 200 ish.
and i still have a standard air filter on it.

plus i **** all over these boy racers and there saxos and 1.8 focus, 1.8 sri astra.

so there we are. a standard car with tints but a few things done under the hood.

LOL, no way 165bhp. I have 260bhp then cos i chipped it innit  get it tested on a rolling road, you will find its significantly less.

What about torque then? If you put too much torque through the standard gearbox and clutch you will grenade them. Looking at around £1500 to replace them.

Dump valve sounds stupid, as discussed before get a proper induction kit. By that I dont mean K&N innit mate

:ROFLMAO:

So do I, in a 1.4 Mainly because they can't drive  :p

My only tweek is using 110RON fuel. lol.

To be honest I don't see the need for an aftermarket dump valve, all you're doing is making noise whilst you lose boost :(

However, you might find the quest for a wee bit of induction noise more appealing and significantly easier /cheaper to do. Whilst my GSR induction has long since left the engine bay of my JTD I would say that the induction noise was, how shall I put this, addictive ;) It's on B3NNETT's 120 MJET now and I'm reasonably confident he'd agree with my comments.........

You'll get some funny looks as that sort of induction sounds like you're dragging old grannies off the pavement and into the engine bay...... and the officers of the law seemed to take great exception to the amount of noise it made in my car every time I was south of the border.
However IMHO you'd be better at looking at the induction, who knows.. you might even actually make 150bhp :p

200bhp is unlikely without major modifications and more than you describe. If you started with a 150 Multijet you'd stand a much better chance of reaching the magical 200..... but on an 8 valve JTD I suspect it would be too much like hard work to get much more than 170-ish.

Good luck ;)

well its not hard work and it is really possible. i have spend abit of money to do it but it has been worth it. it is on 165 bhp at the moment. and it is fast for a diesle .
even faster than them audi a3 sports diesel. not kidding now.
i will try and get a the ecu hooked up on my laptop so i can copy the reading for u gues.

but i am not quite sure on how much bhp the new intercooler would put on it see.
so it would be 165 bhp plus whatever the intercooler and more fuel would be.

it is really simple to do all this as this is my first diesel car. but stilos are expensive on the little sensors that iv changed.

The ECU doesnt tell you the BHP.... go and do some homework.

Intercooler is about 3-4bhp max, as you will loose boost pressure through the longer IC. You can keep adding fuel, but you will destroy the turbo.Have a look in the Grande Punto section, you will see why I heavily doubt your figures with just a chip. The most Ive ever seen from a 115 with a remap was 155bhp, with Red Dot Racings rolling road (which is widely believed to be over reading)

Without a proper rolling road graph, you cant prove the gains.

well it is 165bhp, i know for a fact. and it would be about 200bhp ish with a bigger intercooler and a bit of tweeking.
and the chip i got on the car can be moded uswell, it can be suped up even more but then the engine would get ****ed and i would blow the clutch.

has anyone on the forums upgraded the intercooler on the jtd ?????????

No, you dont know for a fact. The only way you can know is a proper dyno test.

Nobody bothers with FMIC on JTD's. Have you considered the problems you will have with cooling, as the radiator runs the full length of the bumper. How are you going to run the pipes for it?

You can believe what you want about the power, but dont make daft claims you cant back up

Hang on a minute where does this mysterious chip go. Why would you need a chip on a car with a modern OBDII compliant ECU
You do know that you can live map the Standard ecu.
I think that you are talking about those tuning box things which are no where near as good as remapping the ECU. The new map needs to be tailored to the car and the modifications to induction ect ect.
With that chip you are already throwing tons of fuel in. In fact a lot of them can make the car run rich.
Ill openly admit that i am no expert on this subject but i know enough to observe the fact that none of what your saying is making sense.
You are either a real Genius or a complete numpty (i mean that in the nicest possible way)

With a remap, induction kit and exhaust you will be lucky to see 30 extra horsies.

Have a look here http://www.evolutionchips.co.uk/chipsearch.asp These guys reckon that it will put 30 horsies which im sure is complete B/S anyway. How they think an 80bhp version and 115bhp would see exactly the same gain i dont know.

Those fuel savers have been proven to be a gimmick that doesnt actually do anything.

Ok i know this isnt my section but play nice guys. :)

So when are the people in White coats coming to put you back in your padded room?

Seems like someone is over excited ...
Just for reference buddy, a 1.9 JTDm 150 version with 16V head, cold intake, hybrid Garrett GT2256 with GT24 internals (that turbo is as big as your head and has nothing to do with the tiny GT15 you have in), manifold, ceramic stage 3 clutch, 6 speed gearbox, throttle body removal, EGR delete, big FMIC intercooler, straight pipe exhaust and hardcore remap gives 204 hp at the wheels.
Now is your turn to think for a second.

Now about the blow off on a diesel ... hilarious, I bet a person will look 100 times better in a Wartburg with turbo, than in a diesel with pop off. If you want to make a fool out of yourself every time you ride in your car there are kits on ebay, easy to fit, buy one and you are in the game, there's nothing from our side to help.

To be fair....to avoid the RR argument

post up some timings:

40-80 (keep it in 3rd all the way)
40-80 (keep it in 4th all the way)
50-100 (keep it in 4th all the way)

Private road of course and get someone to help you with the stopwatch ;)

....but don't make up figures as you'll only fool yourself :)
