Hi, Just looking for some info, The Shed, sorry Stilo has just given up two off its coils on the drive home from work, It has only done 20 odd miles, running on 2 cylinders....is there any other potential damage that could have been incurred as a result of driving.

was thinking the same thing....will stick it on for an emmisions test when i get the new coils fitted.....just trying to figure out worst case scenario

If the coil packs stopped working you do get a little unburnt fuel on the catalyst, but to be honest it isn;t a lot and it isn;t for long, after a while of running properly the cat should self clean.

I have read about a method of 'cooking off' catalysts that have suffered similar problems. It involves putting the car on a computer, the computer then forces the engine to run slightly lean to increase exhaust temperatures which burns off much of the unburnt fuel residue. It was a big thing maybe 2 or 3 years ago. A quick google suggested a product called Cataclean which suggests it can clean all kinds off of the catalyst in your exhaust by adding tot eh fuel in the tank. Not so sure about that one!

Bloody Fiats...thats a third one gone....arching through the rubber....fitted 2 will pay another visit to parts store the morrow....ARGHHHHH
