Can anybody tell me if there has been a recall on the Stilo for sticking door handle?I had mine fixed last winter after having it in at my local Fiat dealer 6-7 times.

Also has anybody had problems with their head lights filling with condensation.if so,would this be covered under the 3rd year of warrenty?

Has anybody seen the following error code on the Stilo CD player..error £££

Cheers Guys.

Headlights filling with condensation isn't a problem, park your car in the sun, or turn your lights on a few minutes and they will be clear again.

As for the door handle, do you actually mean the door jamming shut, in which case it has sod all to do with the handle, tell the tubes at the garage its the latch thats jamming. I had that problem on my 3 door, got it fixed eventually, and its never given me problem since.

I know this might sound silly, but this is the first winter ive had my stilo, but my door handles have been alrite all year, and now its starting to get cold my door handles are getting stuck, you pull the handle to open the door and then it dosen't go back in when you let go and if you dont notice it hasnt gone back in when you sit in the car and go to shut the door; it dosent shut bcos the handle hasnt latched back in! Going to try and lub it; think thats all thats wrong! Does this sound like whats wrong with yours westie!?

Yes 1.8Stilo the very same, however, bad news, the t****s at the garage stripped ,lubricated and then eventually replaced both doors assemblies last year and they have ok for most of the year untill it starts getting colder.

My Drivers side handle always stuck on my 02 model - the garage sorted it out - but I'm not sure what they did to fix it?? This was under warranty. Also had problem of door not opening once inside the car - again fixed under warranty.

My nearside light filled with condensation, and also makes a major racket when switched on! I think it is down to the light leveller that is broken!

However, all being replaced under 3rd year dealer warranty :)

I only had my Stilo for 2 days when the driver side door jammed shut. Couldn't open it at all
I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the whole door latch mechanism. Haven't had any problems since then.

Well, got up today and after the car goin in the garage yesterday for a paint job on the front bumper; i mentioned the door handles and seems fine this morning only.. thing ive noticed about the door handles as well; is that i really only use my car most weeks and dont really ever carry many passengers! and it seems that the passengers side door, is getting quite stiff to open. Is this because it isnt being used much or does it sound like how it goes before the door locks up and you cant open the door again!

Hi fiat guru here!!
Yeah it happens all the time all it needs is a regular lubrication, its all down to the way fiat design the handle and the plastic, always sticking. Nothing a dealer can do, all they can do lubricate it, but NO NEED as its a easy job!! changing handle NO NEED!!! :D :D

I've had mine at the shop three times to lube the lock. Doesn't help one bit. Two days later it froze again so the door couldn't be closed. The only effect is that I get oily dirt lines from the handle and down the side of the door each time the car gets above freezing. I've told the shop that I'm not accepting this so they have ordered a new "lock box" or whatever it's called. I hope that will do the trick.

I've had no problem with my handles, other than they feel like they are going to break every time I open the doors. I do have the condensation problem, but someone mentioned on a previous thread about it, that Fiat had changed to a lightweight breathable cover for the light units, which apparently overcomes the problem and it can be changed on the warranty.

Leaving your car in the sun or switching your lights on, won't clear it, at least it doesn't on mine even when it is in the sun all day or driven with lights on for hours.

I had trouble with my locks, the drivers door jammed shut, it was the dead lock sticking on. You can fix this by fiddling with the key fob and internal handle, but its only a temporary fix.

As for the handles being stiff, yeah mine are a little, but everything needs lubrication! I currently have a squeeking hinge, I'll sort it when I have chance ;)

Yeah that is only a temporary fix, 'cos next time you inadvertantly deadlock the car you'll only have 1 door to climb in again!

Get the garage telt and they will replace the latch! Plus your car is less likely to get pinched if the car is deadlocked. Oh and your insurance firm won't take a dim view! ;)

I bought my 02 Abarth 3 door 4 weeks ago from a main dealer in Nuneaton. Within a week the near side headlight had condensation which did not dissipate when left in the sun or with the lights on.

Research Nuneaton replaced the entire headlight unit under the third year warranty. They did originally ask if the condensation went away after time but when I said "no" they just got on and replaced it.

The drivers door handle didn't work when I took it for a test drive (was not impressed that the sales guy didn't tell me before I left the garage) but they fixed that before I took delivery.

Drove it, bought it, love it... niggles an' all.

Re: Stilo deadlocks / headlamp condensation

We've just got a 52-reg Stilo, in wonderful Broom Yellow.

I noticed that the near-side headlamp cover has a very small (1.5mm hole drilled through it, right at the base. Can't see any reason for that, such as to stop a crack, so maybe it was added to allow condensation to clear?

Also got a problem with the deadlock on the passenger door, which doesn't want to unlock - can't get into the car on that side whilst it is in this state!
From comments in this forum, it looks like a new look is required on that side.

Is that covered by the warranty (still in first two years at present)?
