General Abarth Chip/remap tuning...

Not yet, but imminent once I have discussed options with alfanige! You seen their website, link at top of page - Angel Tuning - come highly recommended.

Please be aware that prices tend to be negotiated between Nige and yourself, and so not open for general discussion :), unless I am told differently.

Nothing to think about, surely.

Nige tests your car as standard, then puts new map on, then tests again to prove the results. You then have 7 days to try it in your own time, or else you get your money back and original map back on!

Easy ;)

It would still be nice to know the potential power gains. I know really it's meaningless but little graphs or before and after figures just make it all seem worth the money. How about a rough figure are we talking 5% or 20%. I'm not knocking Angel at all but why use them rather than Superchips.....? Well apart from the very obvious one... they don't tune the Stilo Abarth yet?
Oh and one last thing, if the engine is producing more power would it be a good idea to fit an induction kit and a free flow exhaust too?

Er, superchips is a HARDWARE modification, Angel is SOFTWARE based - do I need to spell it out???

It depends - I understand that on certain cars like the Ulysse JTD, the increase was around 40% or so of BHP. Obviously different for petrol models.

Any other mods would be useful - I have heard as well that a CDA BMC airfilter is a worthwhile addition to the Abarth.

Rite ho

The main difference between Superchips and ourselves is that they will do a STOCK modified chip ONLY, which will gain you about 12bhp usually for £511. This is actualy a remap these days by the way, not a chip.

Here at Angel towers we will take a copy of your original map, match it against a modified one that meets your requirements, gain you about 15bhp and charge you at least £200 less!

We can do a dyno run if required for an extra £60 but we strip it out of the cost becuase as most people know they are pretty meaningless stats, but make nice graphs.

We use an AP22 performance meter to give you actual on the road statistics between your standard tune and the modified one. This is a variety of tests that we can do to your requirements (0-60, 50-70 in various gears, 1/4 mile's etc etc) and put them in a stats pack for you. This you can then take down the pub and it means something , even to the barmaid ;-)

Lastly with what we do, its completely reversible, we come to you and you have a 14 day cooling off period whereby if you dont like it for ANY reason, we put you back to standard and refund you - simple as that. Plus we are easy to please and only drink black coffee with no sugar :)

Seriously though we can also do custom maps to take into account other modifications and simply try different things if required.

Best bet is to email us direct for a quotation though [email protected] or give me a ring for a friendly chat 07810 122029

Hey Stiloboy, with your economy and top end speed, you will make it within a few minutes and on fumes anyway ;)

I think they're midlands based?

Re: So true Paul!

The cost of uni James :(

I am on two wheels from now on and only got the HP of my two weak legs :(

Quickie, as your based in England (no doubt on a southern tip at that) do/can you visit? Or is it essential to visit your premises! :)
We come to you basically. You can come to us if you want but its best to book in advance as we do 95% of the tuning on the road these days. We are in the Midlands, but we do a lot of work up North (did Leeds, Rochdale and Cumbria yesterday)

We did Stirling, Kilmarnock and Glasgow a few weeks ago, but we will be back to Scotland soon.

May I suggest that if you want correct answers you drop us an email as I don't get on here as much as I used to :-(

Shame mate, I know how it is ;)

So you sold it or just left it at home?

Re: So true Paul!

Sold, too wasteful to have it on a drive rusting away. Got £325 for it so the depreciation for the year (well, 18 months of ownership) was about £50 lol. Renewal for insurance was about £750 so sadly I can't keep it. It was a similar extra cost for ensuite :(

Sammi is just 30 mins away now though so I will be taking advantage of her new wheels ;) (lol: to sammi, just kidding :) )

You can shut up, you're one of the richest students i know ;) lol

Re: So true Paul!

So assuming you have your chip reprogammed is it traceable!? For example i have a problem with my car, i take to uncle Arnold, the car is attached to the Fiat computer will they know the car has been fiddled with, or will they be able to un-program what you have changed without telling me.

The thing is Stiloboy.....................

you won't know yourself it's been remapped/chipped!

Being a poxy 1.2 your gains will be negligable, 0% of 0 B.H.P is 0%! What you should do is rip out your engine and replace it with a more powerful one, or buy a mans car not a shopping car!

Oh and apparently the remaps are supposed to be untraceable.

No its not traceable and no they cannot overwrite the ECU with the original map as they dont have the equipment nor do they have the original map.

Like I suggest, if you want the correct answers, contact us directly! As for Twincams - he is a bully ignore him, its only becuase he has finally found someone with a Stilo with a less powerful engine than his lol.

Response to Niges quote!

Niges quote:

"Like I suggest, if you want the correct answers, contact us directly! As for Twincams - he is a bully ignore him, its only becuase he has finally found someone with a Stilo with a less powerful engine than his lol."

Twincamms response:

"Nige, what do you mean contact us for correct answers? Although I'm not an expert I do my best to pass on the information I know. You trying to say I know funk all? And I'm not a bully, so tell Stiloboy that please before I come over to your place and kick your head in! And yes, I am happy that there are other Stilos with less powerful engines than mine but this is partly your fault, if you gave me a remap then I couldn't whinge could I?"
