You should read this thread.

Ignore T14086. He likes to collect undertrays to put on his roof to keep the water out. He might even have yours already but he wont be wanting to give it back :D :D :D

I made a duck pond out of it :D

i'm missing mine if that's any concelation, but heh, mines in my boot though not fitted when my shocks/wishbone were fitted 'hmm'

Mine 'went missing' when it went for a service, I followed it up but they said it didn't have one on in the first place, funny as I had to fix it previously as one of the screws came loose.....................

Mine's still fitted to the car, secure, protecting the belts and engine compartment from road c**p - exactly what it was designed to do!

The under tray is also missing on my stilo and I know it used to be fitted when I first go the car. A few weeks ago, I had to put a new radiator due to a leak that developed just as the 3rd year warranty expired :( I found the cover was missing and so was every single fixing. I phoned up the dealership that have done all the servicing since new and asked them why it was missing; The service manager tried to convince me that they would have no reason to remove the under tray to service the car :D he said he would ring me back after he had spoke to the workshop coordinator but he never did (n)

I lost the undertray on my 1st multiwagon in deep snow... was trying to get out from the house and there was a 1/2 mile driove along a track slightly uphill. I got stuck in what was about 10 inch of fresh thick snow and had to reverse.. the back of the tray acted as a snow plough, filled with snow and lifted the wheels off the ground.,, i managed to dig enough snow out fromn the car to get the wheels back on the ground but the car was jammed fast... I ended up using the spade to smash the tray off so to dig more snow out.

£180.00 Reg Vardy quoted for a new one!, needless to say it lived with out one for about 5 months before sailing off down the valley in floods. HAHA

so what are the pros and cons of having an undertray on/off?

I'm defo in favour of having it off

Sorry I meant keeping it on ..as Rich said it protects the underneath of the car and to be honest I couldnt run My GSR induction without the tray :D

so what are the pros and cons of having an undertray on/off?

FIAT wrote the book on cost-cutting; we've seen many examples on the Stilo, such as reducing the keys to a punto mk-2.5 style, deletion of grab handles, deletion of TFT screen on Abarths, deletion of picnic seat, deletion of sun visor lights, deletion of petrol cap locking . . . heck, even the wheelarch liners at the front lost a screw as it probably wasn't needed!

But, they kept the undertray . . . If it was not needed, FIAT would have ditched it. The fact it later became standard on all Stilos leads me to the fact that it should be left there to do its job.

Lost my undertray yesterday, will now have to fashion a new bit to replace the broken corner, and find a ramp to get underneath to refit properly..... Oh the joys of Stilo ownership :bang:
