If anyone spots P 898 FBU reg plates on a car other than mine can you let me know, some theaving (sp) git stole my reg plates off my car this morn while i was in a patients house
To make it worse they had my name, Dawn of Time, across the bottom

I've informed the police as ive got feeling they were nicked so they could be stuck on a nicked car, unfortunately the area i was in was THAT bad.

Any info would be a great help :)

Unlucky Dawn :(

some people are so low that they steal anything.
people steal money from charity boxes  that really pisses me off!

Hope u get ur plates back with no hassel!

Yeah the police have assured me that cos ive reported it straight away that anything that does happen involving them will be gone over with a fine tooth comb to work out if it was me or not.
Lucky cos mine is a distinctive car they will know straight away if its me

Edit, yeah alex :( , ive repoted it to work and they thinking about sending two people at a time, was only the second day ive been there :(

Time to run some speed cameras and red lights eh dawn... you can always claim it wasn't you!

Seriously though... What a pain in the arse... They must be stupid. If they'd used your reg without nicking your plates, and made some replicas them selves, they'd be better off cos you wouldn't know about it, but as soon as your reg pops up somewhere it shouldn't its not going to be you... But unfortunatly for you untill its all sorted out and you keep the same reg, you'll be pulled by the cops every time you drive past one.

Yeah up here you cant get plates made without your V5, it just realy p*ssed me off cos i was at work and i had all the messing about so i could carry on working (cos i need my car).

Alex im hoping after describing my very "personal" car they should know if its me or not  although i did get the urge to run speed cameras while not having any plates on :p

Dawn, tale some pics of your car, as it is now, because being distinctive it should be easy to prove its not you.

A workmate had his 323i cloned, lucky for him though they stuck the plates on a E36 shape, whereas his (as the logbook shows) is an E46.

can get 'em made up in wales then sent to uk (eg the online plate ordering ones)

Ghost, is this the same wales thats next to england?? cos thats part of the uk and the same law applies there about the V5, unless they are being made up as "show-plates" from somewhere like www.gtgrafix.com

one of my dad's staff had her punto cloned - she was getting congestion charge fines and speeding tickets from london when she was in swansea - nice!!

You can still buy the equipment to make plates up with, and the materials, but yes stealing them is the far simpler option.

i think alex means ROI, they are not governed by the same laws apparantly - *trying to find law :D*

ive always needed V5 when im getting my plates made up in wales

gtgrafix do require a V5 if they are not show plates, i needed to fax them a copy of my driving license and V5 form, but i never had my V5 form, so i sent them some other form - not sure what that was now

fancy plates dont need any documents from you, but they are really slow, claim to be 48hr turn around but it took over a week to arrive

dawn - dad has looked in his jp book and says not to worry, you have covered all bases by telling police, but he advises to get new plates made up quick to save any hassle as you can still be done for not displaying plates :(
