On behalf of what was said on the other thread as a new site idea if a post gets locked or delted can we have a way for other users to see why it was deleted?

Also as well as having good rep can we have bad rep, if we reach a certain figure we shud serve a weeks ban or summat!!

Wat does everyone think???

Bans will be given out as seen necessary I believe, if somebody gets say 2 bad reps in a day it may require consideration but if somebody gets that over a year it's not a good idea. It's best if each case is given individual attention I feel. Of course this is just how I think it works...

how many threads of yours have been deleted

i cant belive that one has been!!!

anyway, i agree with the first, its a bit confusing, following a thread, then one day, trying to find it, failing, and in the end thinking that youve imagined it, and that your going mad

would be nice to know im not going insane by letting us know somethings happened!! :D

I think your fisrt point is a good idea. After all, it is a public forum.

I think the secong idea is a bit petty and there are other ways of solving these issues. Also it couldn't be inforced. For example, if Binki got a ban, he could log on and post as Dave if he knows his password.

my point exactly.

Ive had 2 threads deleted and 2 locked!! Im the badboy of FF!!

there was no thread youve all imagined it.
if some one puts up a pic of thier car and says what do you think then fair enough, but there are othersites on the net where people post others cars and people rip into them and everybody hates them , not saying anyone above did it here but you never know how a thread is going to go, so its best removed if it ever did exist

There has always been good AND bad rep, and believe me, a few bits of BAD rep have been dished out in the past :D

Go to Members List, click on reputation header, and then go to last page, and work backwards.

Remember, everyone starts with 4 points, and if equal points, I think it is alphabetical.

You work it out :p

The reason threads disappear without trace was demonstrated well by the recent 'oops' thread. It got all silly, so I locked it and asked for no more.
Then, someone reads the locked thread, can't reply, so starts another thread trying to carry on the argument.

If threads just dissappear, what happens is they get moved to an area where only the moderators can read them and restore / keep hidden as decided.

Proven to work better on this site.

I'm all for a bit of moderation but its a but 1984 when threads just dissapear. Is there no way of leaving some note that they have been moved into the moderators 'back stage' area, saves a bit of time looking for threads that have been moderated, especially when you last looked at them they were still roughly sensible?

As I said, it's proven to carry on the arguments, hence the dissappearing.
