AR$E !!!! :bangshead:

Well four events in five weekends (1 x sprint, 1x stage rally, 1 as CoC on the EAC, and the Funky Elephant ( road rally not something in the circus) was always going to be hard on the old girl and seems the last six months have caught up with me.

I knew the OSF strut top mount was worn so i thought i would get it changed during the week before the Funky. However when i removed the strut i noticed that the top mount looked a little bent (see here), so i thought i had better look at the top mount of the shell and found this clicky here

So i had to phone the Funky organiser (hope to get most of my money back) and then give up for night in the garage, not before finding this on the NS

Also i know that one of the rear strut mounts needs some work to remove some rust, so looks like i'll have to either pay out a shed load for some one re-build the car or buy a welder and leanr how to strengthen strut mounts (anyone got a pointers ???? )

Also this means i will miss the Brooklands show :(

The steel on these unos is not the thickest or best quality as you know for normal road conditions not to mention your activities.
Do as the guys say get out the welder and put a titanium plate in place lol.
Pete

how are you gonna weld titanium to steel:confused:

now that would be pretty funky:D

cut up an old volvo floor pan and use that for donor steel, its about 3-3.5mm thick, as appose to the uno's shell pan thickness of abotu 1.2-2mm

Just get another uno off of ebay in time for brooklands, I nearly got a 45i.e in blue with 36k for about £26, the highest bidders highest bid was £26.60, and I bid max of £26.13 :(
