Just thought I'd share this little addition I've made to my Sedici. I had a Griffin Roadtrip and an iPod Classic but I can't use my Napster subscription or listen to podcasts easily so I wanted to make my phone the main audio device.

Here's what I've just done;

Buying the Bits
I bought a Connects2 Aux Adapter CTVSZX001 for £29.90 from In Car Connections. I also bought an audio splitter http://goo.gl/zp99DH and 2x 3.5mm cables http://goo.gl/jdaAqt from Amazon for a total of £5.57.

Fitting the Aux Adapter
I took out the glove box by opening it and squeezing it from the sides to pop it out. I then pushed the multi-coloured cable up from the bottom of the passenger side footwell up towards the stereo. There's no easy way to do this but I had to steady the cable with my right hand and push it in with my left. It's definitely doable.

Attaching the Audio Jacks

I wanted a jack on the right-hand side by my phone cradle so I took off the panel under the steering wheel and fed the cable over alongside the existing micro USB cable I have there to charge the phone.

I popped up the dashboard to feed the cable in, but the hole wasn't big enough so had to use a 9mm drill bit to scrape off a bit of plastic to make room for the jack.

With that all set up I've got a nice length of cable to go to the phone and when they're not in use they can be tucked in to the air vent with the micro USB.

With that all fixed in I fed the cable back to the Aux Adapter via the splitter.

I also wanted a jack on the left so that passengers could deal with long journey playlists and more importantly avoid me playing mine!

The Result
And that's about it. Works really well and the audio quality is great compared to the Griffin Roadtrip. I just press the CD button and it goes into CD Changer mode and will happily sit there until the input starts playing. Pressing the CD button again makes the stereo use the CD instead.

I did consider running the left-hand side jack down the centre console to cupholder behind the handbrake for rear seat passengers.... but the glovebox one seemed more useful day-to-day.
