Hey there, my first post!

I was wondering if you could give me any information on getting a remote locking system fitted to my Punto Mk2b 1.2 Active 5dr. It is only a few months old, so has central locking fitted as standard and is under warranty, so I do not want to go fiddling around with it myself. I was wondering if Fiat dealerships offer a service of fitting remote locking to the car that will not void the warranty. I want it done properly, so am not too bothered if the dealership charge more than a private garage would.

Any one know?

Cheers guys!

I think fiat would probably do one I know you can get alarms fitted and central locking incuded (y)

I got the remote locking kit from ebay for my mk2, it was £55, took about an hour to fit.

It isn't a very easy job to do though, there are about 8 wires to connect

IIRC fiat want around £75 to fit.

How can I tell if I already have remote central locking? Where is the unit normally stored?

At the moment I only have the red key to my car. If I do/dont have the remote unit, how much will it cost me to get a blue key with the button, and if necessary the remote unit for the car?

What is this mk2 unit? I am confident fitting it myself if I can just buy the parts FIAT would use themselves, but would obviously still need them to do the blue key for me.

dont know the answers to the qu's but you should get the blue key ASAP. if you lose that red key its going to cost you £100's

I know! It is not good. It was how I was sold the car. In fact the blue key i have only opens the drivers door and not even the ignition, so someone has been playing with this in some way!

I upgraded my MK2 Punto 1.2 (2001, serial two door central locking)
with remote Meta System M320 RC New (negative controls).
It cost me about £31.(y)

Fiat used to offer a remote central locking module that simply replaced the existing door lock relay. It cost about £55 and may fit your car. I don't know if they still do it, but it's worth asking?
