I've had a really awsome alarm that locks the doors and starts the engine off a watch :slayer:for about 4 years now, i've installed it, well, sort of, to my last 2 cars and thought i'd have a go at fitting it into my sei sporting. 4 months later and it was just about working, the it did the lockng, kept the engine running and tried to start it. so while i was tidying the wires up, there was a puff of blue smoke, and now my central lock won't unlock. :bang::bang:

anyway, i've ripped the annoying thing back out and havent bothered with it till now.

I'm moving house and would really like to get it installed before i move.

i've been quoted £200 to £250 for fitting it, the other places i've tried won't fit something they've not sold.

does any one know soneone in the barnsley/rotherham/wakefield/dewsbury area whos a little more reasonable, or needs their van signwriting, graphics for their car etc..

applogies for the essay by the way.

daft i know but have you cheaked the fuse for the central locking?

Hope This Helps Tom

erm..... you've got me as to why it wouldn't be? noone can drive off with the car as the alarm sounds and the engine dies if the doors are opened.

I was told its against the law to leave your car if the engine is running?!?, and about the risk of leaving the car in gear. I agree with you and see no problem, but its just what I've heard.

For the alarms that I sell I recommend that my customers use

http://www.in-car-installs.co.uk/index.php

They have fitted over 100 alarms for me in the past year and my customers have had no issues at all with their quality of service and after service care.

OMG, I find fitting alarms and remote central locking a doddle. I could make a bomb charging half the price they charge for their services. lol.

got myself a feature packed alarm / imboliser / anti-hijack / remote start / remote locking / remote engine kill etc etc etc the list goes on.

for £40 on the bay - took 4+ hours to fit though :( wires to everything, but it works a treat - the instructions were easy to follow (identifying which cables on the car wasn't) and it works really well - too well the 25 second auto arm isn't enough time to get shopping in or out :(

But if your going for remote engine start - remember if you have a fiat imboliser it won't work unless you leave a key in the ignition to fool the imobilser ring. Personally I wouldn't fancy doing this as scumbags will see the key and break the window!

I mainly got this one because of the watch engine start bit (007 style cool(y))

you don't have to leave the ket in the ignition, you can have a blank key coded and snap the key part off, just tape the top part of the key to the ring.
