The engine has blown in m 1999 t scudo i have heard rumours that the engine out of a peugeot 306/406 turbo diesel will fit? is this correct and is there any other alternatives??

my brother and i have just finished putting the engine out of 405 1.9 turbo
into his
took some doing tho as the engine brackets needed to be extended and moved to move it forward a bit as the turbo was hitting the steering
if yours is a turbo i would imaging you have the right brackets
the oil breather on the turbo needed altering as it had a bend that was right in the way again 2 allen keys to use the one you have
also gearbox .. we put the origional box in because the 405 had a 3rd holder for the clutch cable and a different thrust bearing that did not like to be pulled back to far as it slipped past onto the clutch and jammed
conclusion....
it fitted as the blocks are the same .. just took a bit more work than we thought
