Blue&Me Tom Tom 2

Blue&Me Tom Tom 2

Only had it a day but impressed so far, my old Go750 bit the dust so as we have just bought a Fiat 500 and went for the Tom Tom 2.
Controls the usb music far easier than peering at the dash to see what your selecting, you can tap the screen or use the steering wheel buttons.
In navigation mode the screen is far better than the old model, and will still display music track.Turns on and off when conected into dash port.
Only downside is Tom Tom home is no longer used and not all items are on the new site, ie map colours, cars etc.

hi there

im getting a new punto at the end of the month and also tempted by one of these. ive also been getting confused by the mixed reviews ive read and due to the hefty price tag i just want to make sure i know what im going to get! - so the best thing to go for is the "blue and me tom tom 2", is that right?

and just to clarify, can the b&m tomtom 2 control media thats being played by way of the usb? is this done by voice control as well as by touching the screen?

and just out of interest, do you leave yours in your car all the time or do you take it out every time you park up? if the latter, is it a pain to carry around?

cheers!

Voice control works fine controling the usb input
The tomtom 2 is light years ahead of the first tomtom unit.
Don't leave it in the car the mount is removed and lives in the cup holder and the slimmer sat nav goes in my pocket.

cheers arthur thanks for that!

with regards to the voice control is it as simple as saying playlists/artists/albums and then the specific name of a playlist/artist/album for it to start playing music?

and am i right in thinking that without the tomtom2 you can only select music by way of the controls on the steering wheel?

sorry for so many questions, this forum seems to be the best place to ask these kind of things!

Thanks for that... very useful.

My fiancée and I are also getting a new Punto Evo at the end of the month and we are looking for a satnav that will fit on the dash mount, does the Blue&me tomtom 2 fit the bill and where can I get one??

DD

Yeah I've noticed it's not on the fiat website too ... They make it so hard for people to find out what's available and whats compatible with what, bit of a joke really.

Anyway, I've found a seller on eBay who's doing them for £299 delivered. Im also due to pick up my new Evo at the end of this month so I've emailed the dealer to see what price they can offer, will go for the cheaper of the two!

My dealer charged me £249 including vat so I paid up quick!

Sounds like a really good buy... Was that a special deal they did for you or their normal selling price? If the latter is there any chance you could post a link to them?!

I have the regular Tomtom Blue&me 2 and I'm pretty thrilled about it. It's core funtion, the sat-nav is basic Tomtom - doesn't get any better than that. Mine isn't the live version, so there is no way to get traffic info on it. The TMC antenna doesn't fit while it's in the Fiat holder. I love the blue&me part, especially the trip-computer, eco-drive thingy and media player. My wife loves to take it down to browse and select music she wants to hear and then put it back up. It's cool that you can control it from the steering wheel buttons - safer too. I do miss some kind of google maps integration to sync up favorites, but it's no biggie.

It's pretty large, so I wouldn't want to lug it around when leaving the car. Haven't tried out the voice commands yet. For the Blue&me integration with the car, I think it's well worth the price

I have had the blue&me live 2 since it came out and as I have said in other threads I think its brilliant, usb and blue&me voice are improved so much by this unit that without it those functions are flaky and best. Buy it you will never regret it but be careful its not version 1

I bought this unit having followed the link. Fantastic piece of kit and so much better than my previous Garmin live satnav. The integration of the unit with the blue&me in the car is fanatastic. So glad my car had the 68R option fitted.
