After having my valves fixed a couple of weeks ago (cambelt snap) -
my Punto 90 ELX cabriolet MK1(1581mpi) has suddenly developed an ignition problem.
Wondered whether it was a problem with damp conditions? Been raining here in London and I washed it yesterday by hand (which involved lots of buckets of water).
The engine turns over fine, but does not fire up.(warm or cold) The lights on the dash come on as usual. (code&airbag lights comes on and then off etc).
I'll then give it another go before it fires on usually the 3rd or 4th time after waiting 5-10 seconds after turning the key to the position before ignition.
She then runs just fine???? Sparks/Oil and Air filter are about 7 months old.
I've been reading about coil packs/ECU etc - but I'm just not sure.
Anyone have any ideas?? thanks!
