Hi, I have a punto gt turbo and its struggling to pass mot's now due to tonnes on rust!! Is it possible to buy a punto 55, 60 or 75 and swap the gt's engine, loom and running gear? If so I've been thinking about the loom! Is it a headache job to swap looms and does the dash have to come off? Will appreciate your help.

I think you can buy a new shell from Brazil but I'll have to double check.

A lot of Uno Turbo's are pensioner spec' 45's with a parts swap. Just make sure if you ever sell the car to declare everything. There are quite a few RST's and such still registered as a 1.3 Bonus. :(

Yeh thought it would lol. I've had the gt for 3 year and love it. I'm glad there's good remarks in restoring it. M5haw that will be great if you can post pic on here (y) so now I've got the thumbs up just need to find a good mk1 to convert :) liquid knight I'm by the book so will be declared as it's former glory (y) thank guys.

...looks great and being a Sporting means you only have to swap rear wishbones and brakes to get the chassis up to spec'.

If you have a more restrained budget (£500 for the Sporting -£200 for the engine, gearbox and loom to someone (me) who's building a Panda) this...

...is a nice colour and has potential. ;)

(-£100 for the 60S engine and box + more work)

The sporting is not bad price and I do have ka if they wanted to swap lol. The punto 60 will be ideal if it stays at that money :). I checked out cars2 site, some great panels which will be handy like the floor pans but will need inner rear arches aswell as mine has a hole nearly the size of a football. I couldnt find if they did them :-\

As you have a complete car, stuff like doors, bumpers, headlights, bum holders, windows, and everything else you don't need can go towards the build. ;)

The new 4x4 drive train wouldn't be up to it. Unless you can manually select four wheel drive instead just waiting for the front to loose grip.
