Oh wait it's just another facelift

Is that for India ? I wish they had one for us :)

It's apparently already launched in India as a 'punto evo' fiat UK dropped the 'evo' to go back to the standard "Punto" brand but there is a rumour this version could appear here.

Another rumour I've heard is fiat will replace the current punto/grande model in 2016 but it my be some variation of 500esq model name possibly the "500plus" which seems stupid as the "Punto" has a good following changing the name effectively makes it an unknown commodity to punto owners looking to update their current car.

Fiat please note the best selling car in the UK is the Ford Fiesta and they didn't get there by changing the name every couple of years

Yes i agree with a lot said above, the Grande Punto design tweaked into a 2015 version with new platform and technology would be the way to go for many Punto past and present owners something like this i guess, but without the black bumper insert of the evo version .

I must admit, I don't understand why people are still buying Corsas, but not Puntos, even though both designs are the same age, and both are still good cars, and far better looking than the latest superminis.

Ah, the chavy "Limited Edition" Corsa with the black alloys and body kit seems to be a big seller especially with younger drivers. I suppose it has a sporty look to it but with sensible engine options for insurance.

Maybe Fiat should have done something similar but a bit bolder than just the Jet Black version.

Another problem with brand new is the limited engine range Fiat now offer.

What's wrong with the range of engines?

The engines range is just ridiculous... Yes there are best sellers, but you can not remove half the engines because people will buy other markes, simply.

You can buy a Fiesta with 80-180HP, you can buy a Polo 80-180HP (and with double clutch gearbox), and you can buy a Punto... with 69-77CV in petrol. Wow.

Perhaps they just axed the unpopular engines?

Perhaps but I am not speculating what they have or haven't done.

Fiat sell more of an engine range in the Punto in other EU countries though so they haven't axed them, they just aren't offered in the UK market. For example in Germany you can buy the 0.9 TwinAir and 1.4 MultiAir still.

I'm not criticising the engine range but just saying there is a limited and uninspiring choice. Not that there is anything wrong with any of them. It will hardly help sell the cars when competitors have more variety.

Are you sure ? I agree for the 0.9 TA, but for 1.4 MultiAir (N/A 105 or Turbo 135HP) it is not available anymore everywhere :(

Hopefully, they will eventually launch a new Punto that will make people take notice of Fiat again. Currently, it's only a few intelligent people that buy them.

Don't go 180! I had a Fabia vRS with this engine and DSG. Nothing but trouble in the 7 months I had it.
But the Fiesta ST seems a good choice and a great drive especially now there is no Abarth Punto in the UK...

No Abarth Punto anymore... no where.. sad :(

Yeah for VAG 1.4 TSI 150-180CV a lot of problems (I know two Seat, one with a under warranty changed engine that eated more oil than petrol and another just a bit better - but more than 2 liters in 5'000km) and a Fabia vRS with a failed gearbox... not fixed under warranty.
But they are on catalog

It's crazy how they are still marketing and selling these engines despite ongoing problems. They released the revised version of the engine in late 2012 however had continued oil consumption issues with this as well from what I have read.

Mine featured in the bad points list on HonestJohn.co.uk 's review:

Another case of high oil consumption leading to replacement of engine of 8,500 mile 2012/62 Skoda Fabia vRS (was using a litre every 450 miles). Only the engine itself was replaced. Turbocharger, supercharger, spark plugs, airfilter from original engine all re-fitted.

It's a huge gamble owning these outside of warranty.

Sorry to go off topic.
