Help,

Son used my wifes car last night, wouldnt start when he returned to it.
There is a word "code" on the dash which wont go off. Having read other threads have checked fuses adjacent to battery, checked wire on ring by ignition key. The key (only one) has the triangle and circle and 2 above it.

Any suggestions or is it likely to need ecu looking at.

I am a newbie so if this post is in the wrong place I apologise in advance!

Car is Punto 1.2elx Vreg 1999.

Sounds like CAN fault...best take to dealer.

Thanks for reply what is "CAN FAULT". After charging battery all day just put it back on. Code light stays lit and red steering wheel lit beneath it, was trying for quick fix rather than expensive dealer repair.

CAN is the binary system that the cars modules use to 'talk' to each another.

Again I would advise trip to dealer,no magic cure for this fault or the steering fault...see here;
