Can anyone help me? When i take the key out of the ignition - the stereo stays on, i have to take the face off the stereo for it to go off.

How do i get it so that when the key is taken out the stereo goes off? Coz i keep forgetting and the battery is going to go flat :I

All depends on the stereo wiring. If you want it to switch off with the ingition, the stereo's main power supply wire needs to come from the ignition switch's accessory output, rather than the cigarette lighter supply which is a permanent supply. It's a pain in the arse to sort (like all car electrics [xx(], I just have mine on the "always on" cable. It doesn't drain the battery 'cos I always take the front panel off my Sony minidisc player

if it's a blaupunkt grenoble, then you'll have to rewire the plug at the back.

Mines a panasonic minidisc player, if its really awkward i'll just have to remember to keep taking the front panel off - only problem is when i take it off i forget to put it back on and have to drive in silence

not a prob... can't say i've tried it, just sort of got used to it the way it is.. means i always remember to remove the face as well now so some bas***d doesn't nick it again...

you could take a power supply from the cig lighter and use that as your "acc" wire

Just thought I would update you all, I've since found out that the MD player has a remote control so i can switch it off using that - although i do still take the front panel off to deter the tea-leaves!!!
