Hi,

I've seen this thread: https://www.fiatforum.com/i-c-e/27507-speaker-sizes-data-needed.html

... but am slightly confused, regarding rear speakers.

I was looking to put in some rear aftermarket ones (13cm) but I've just taken the plastic cover off on the rear, right side, near the seat belt, and it measures 10cm.

Is there some way the 13cm ones could fit and the original fiat plastic trim put back on (don't wan't them visible encase of car being broken into).

Thanks.

I replaced mine and they fit in the original covers fine. I used this halfords speaker guide. Get yourself fiat speaker adapters so you don't have to cut any wires.

Hi,

So I managed to install 13cm speakers in the back (factory ones were 10cm).

As far as I know there are two types of adapter plates for the rear speakers.

Originally I purchased:

Autoleads SAK-1402 Speaker Adaptor Kit for Fiat Punto: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike

It turns out this adapter was for the older Fiat Punto's (pre mk2b) which use four screws to connect the 10cm rear speakers. The advantage of this kit was the fact that it came with two wiring adapters.

The adapter plates which were correct are:

CT25FT03 130mm Rear Hatch Speaker Adaptors Ring Pods For FIAT Punto

These had two screw holes which matched my Fiat Punto's mounting points. Additionally they were made of thicker plastic and were longer (more clearance for speakers). However they did not come with any wiring adapters, were more expensive and had no screws (the original screws did not fit).

Due to the speakers I purchased being 5x heavier than the factory ones, I used 1 - 2 cable ties per speaker to secure the adapter to the mounting point on the side which were lacking screws. The cable ties fitted through the trim holes at the top (you can remove a piece of trim above the speakers for easier access).

Hope this helps someone.
