just purchased a 53 plate 1.2 8 valve that had been sitting roughly a year.
having power issues(none) pulls away ok kind of shuddery while driving and hills are a nightmare. have checked and cleaned plugs ordered new ones and leads but also thinking throttle sensor!
can anyone confirm throttle sensor symptoms?
any other ideas?

Been sat
Is it stale fuel? - stale fume dont combust that well...

But puntos have coil pack issues, when coils fail they pass on continuity but breakdown under load

It runs and is 10x worse under load would point to coil issues

If u do coils - do hts and pligs

Welcome to FF.
There could be a number of causes especially as it's sat for a while. Reading fault codes is a good idea. You can get cheap self contained generic readers but they only give basic information. If you intend woring on the car yourself Multiecuscan s a PC based program that fault finds all connected modules, reas sensor values and adjusts settings. It's a valuable asset and a bargain at 50 euros for the registered version. You can try it out for free before registering.

thank you for your input. never considered coils as it starts and idles fine.
definitely used up stale fuel and ran a bottle of redex through.
its kind of intermittent but definitely getting worse how can i check coils?

its also leaving a nasty black stain on road from exhaust!

Black exhaust is a sign of poor combustion

Coils that run fine on startup and idle are just barely charging fast enough
When engine speed picks up
They require a wuicker charge time and greater voltage due to the pressure increase

The coil pakcs break down internally, a dvom check says there good but often aint

Coils and puntos go hand in hand
They do fail
They so blow ecus if they are ignored too long

You can try a scrappies coil pack to test
If the faults cured splash the dosh to get new decent coils
Not white box surprises....
Magnetelli or bosch or champion or ngk etc

put 2 scrappie coils in symptoms exactly the same hoping its plugs or leads will know tomorrow when they arrive.

done plugs and leads no change!!!
shuddering quite bad at low speed in high gears?
tried running without air filter car runs great?? not perfect but not far away!
seriously confused now!
