Hello, Punto sporting 2000 1.2 16v automatic gearbox(dualogic) don't show speed. But i can't find speed sensor on the gearbox, maybe it measures from ABS?

looks like i made an mistake, it's a speedgear. Sorry

No need to apologize...!

If I remember correctly -- and dave will correct me, I'm sure... -- there's some sort of interplay between the crank position sensor and the gearbox speed input sensor: but my mind may be playing tricks, here. But I can't remember if the ABS plays any part.... Now it's my turn to say sorry....

Have any warning lights come up on the dashboard? Have you had anything done to the brakes, recently? Could you have disturbed any wiring when working on the engine? Does your car beep, when you brake, as well as when you reverse...?

The only reason I ask this last question is that a dodgy earth to the rear light cluster (where the reversing light is) can cause all sorts of weird Speedgear issues; and might be worth checking and cleaning....

There seem to be a lot of speedo-related problems on Puntos, at the moment, though.... :(

PS: Would have looked in my Haynes (although it's not brilliant, with regards to autos...); but it's in the boot of the car -- which is currently in for bodywork repairs.... :(

speedo not working from the day i buy the car. There was all kind of problems: gearbox didn't changed gears, but the problem was with sensor(i dont' know how it calls) he was broke off, fixed that. Electro steering was gone, that fixed too. Fuel gauge sometimes show, sometimes don't. It's strange because i called to dealer and he told me part number of the speed sensor 46817374, but it's the same as in the manual gearbox, but i can't find no such sensor in my gearbox, so i think he made a mistake.

for speedgear box

speed sensor is 1 of the ones on the side of the box, i don't know what one of the 2 it is though all i know is when my box was rebuilt there were round the wrong way and box wouldnt change up, swapped them over and all was fine
As i found in youtube, speedgear has two speed sensors primary pulley speed sensor to your left and the secondary pulley speed sensor to your right and in between near the secondary pulley there is a round 3 pin plug for temperature and pressure sensor of the box. Everything should be understand when you remove the passenger side front wheel and look towards the gearbox from there. However i need to find where the part 46817374 is on this speedgear box. Please support.
