Hi Friends,
I am a newbie and this is my first post. Please note that I bought my very first car last month which is a Punto Sporting 1.2 16v yellow coloured car. Yesterday while going to work we saw the reserve light on advising us to refill the tank. However, we did not since were getting late for work. On our way back we headed to the petrol station but as we were half way the car stopped and the engine would not start. We went to the petrol station and brought back some petrol, poured into the tank and switched on the engine. It did and we came to our home. But as soon as it reached our home which is about 15 miles to the place where it all happened, the engine started making noise and the power seem to evade even after pressing the pedal till the end. And now the car does not seem to go more than 65 mph and the engine is making a lot of noise. Today we took the car to a couple of mechanics and they checked the car. They said maybe fuel filter, or fuel pump is having issues as the reserve petrol consumed by the car may have dirt particles that are now stuck either to the fuel filter, the fuel pump or fuel injectors. Also one or two cylinders seem to work and the rest are not working. Now my question is what might have happened? And how to rectify this issue? And if it is fuel filter then what is the cost of replacing it? If it is fuel pump then what is the cost and if it is fuel injector then what it the cost?
Please help me as I am desperate and I am so gutted that I bought this car and it has been sitting in my driveway for a month before I got chance to drive it - money problems. And now only driving it for three days, this has happened. Please help me and suggest to me what has gone wrong? Is it something I can neglect and keep driving the car or do I have to resolve this issue before driving the car?
Thanking all of you for your advices.

Hi Dave,
