my punto 1.9jtd conks out while driving along. on trying to restart the engine management light stays on and will not start. after about 15minutes it will restart again. it does not do this when the engine is cold.any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

fuel filter or water in fuel common problems on diesel engines

my wives 19 diesel punto has the same problem.Ihave replaced fuel filter and suspected dirt in tank but nojoy yet.Idid however find that afew people said check tdc sensor and ecu.

Or just dealer to get the code read.

There are a couple of sensors that can play havok on the JTD engine, so its probably just a case of changing one. As much as it hurts to say it, a main dealer could SAVE money by reading the code
