Hello people

I have a fiat punto 2005 and am looking for a code reader/scantool
I have come across some at doityourselfdiagnostics

choosing one is beyond me , could someone tell me which if any will work with my car ? what are other people using ?

Any help is much appreciated as i don't know anything about the subject really and im feel like im :bang:

Ok well your car is OBDII compatible. So most OBDII scanners should work. I say should as it can be a bit hit a miss with some of the cheaper ones, as although OBDII is a standard, there are a few different protocols that OBDII uses.

It also depends what sort of diagnosis you want to do. I would recommend one which is CAN compatible, as lots of other functions on your car use the CAN network and often its helpful to be able to trace faults on this too.

For standard, basic EOBD fault codes, then an OBDII fault code reader will do.
