probably been asked a million times but what is your mpg showing at the minute, mines at 32.7!

Ok, mine is a active sport 16v, basically the same engine.... i usually get around 40mpg, but ive had it mapped and induction kit fitted by gsr, and..... i still get 40mpg while flooring it alot now ( it is a lot more economical when just cruising which is great)

my GF gets 45mpg on average, and that does not include any motorway driving at all so imo its doing very well.
when i have some fun with it then it drops to 40mpg.
32.7mpg shows there is something seriously wrong either with the way you drive or with the car itself (probably both)

change air filter for a new one

just change it for a new standard ait filter? will aftermarket ones do it any favours?

might aswell just get a standard one, about £5 from a motor factors. Aftermarket ones are around £40 and you wont ever recoup that difference
what do people get in 1.4sporting i only get 31mpg used to get 32 b4 i got the gsr thats around town only i dont relly do anything but.
and b4 someone says its gone down to 31 becouse of my driving its not me its the gsr when i first got it i was only geting 24 to 27mpg then after aweek i got use to it and when back to driving normal and it when up to 31 only geting 31 by driving like an old woman tho when i drive like i use to and got 32mpg i now only get around 29mpg

i dont think the computer knows wtf it doing with a 1.4. some times i getting 40+ some times 33 and no difrence in the driving or type of fuel

Have you had a remap aswell? Also it could be your driving style, you should be getting 40mpg easy even with enthusiastic driving now and then. Make sure you are in the right gear and your mpg will get better. If thats not the case check your lambda sensors, mine had both failed and my mpg was in the low 20's.... got it fixed and now its running amazingly

its a 1.4 not 1.2 and i dont have a remap yet and im not a boyracer as soon as i can be in topgear i am

I get 42mpg combined in my 1.4. And theres times I drive it like a loon lol.
my 30mpg all round town i could get over 40 combined with out a remap you sure you dont drive everway in 3ed gear
My Mk2b does about 47-50mpg on my 30mile trek to work but the lowest ive had is about 34mpg when having a lead foot session!
20-30 sounds pretty low to me, sounds stupid but have u checked your tire pressures?

I'd hazard a guess at exhaust leak, bodged air filter, and or lazy lambda or all of what I've just said!.
is this about my car? if so it would of showed up on the rolling road that it was not running right and fiat say it does 32mpg around town so its not far of what it should be

tell you what to do to improve your mpg...
go to the top of a really big hill,
pop open your bonnet,
disconnect the ground (black cable) then reconnect it.
start your car
drive a tiny bit down the hill
put it in neutral
let it roll all the way to the bottom
check your mpg

No i mean the other guy with shocking mpg
. Yours is normalish. Probably just your driving style and the driving environment.
