My old Pug 106 had a rear wiper that was fully on or off and when i got my 05' Punto i expected to have an intermittent one, then i drove my brothers 01' Brava and his has one I was thinking maybe mine does too and the relay for it could be broken or something leading it to go continuously when turned on, Does anyone with a Mk2B Punto have an intermittent one?

I ask cos i don't see a lot of point having one that runs continuously unless i reverse in the rain but that seldom happens.

sorry, no you don't. it's either on, off or single wipe which uses the washer too. I tend to turn it on then off (rather than wash) if i just want a single wipe.

mystery solved so, thanks for that, i just flick it on and off too when needed, you'd wonder though why they would put the intermittent one on the Brava and not the 2B. ah well, doesn't matter that much anyway. (y)

Does anyone know how to go about making it imtermittent?. . . i.e. just a case of swapping the reley?

you would probably need a new switch unless you wanted to replace constant with intermittant rather than having both.

i would have thought replacing the relay would work but can't be sure. you think you could swap it with the front wipers to see?

that's odd,

my Y-reg mk2, 54 Plate 2b and 05 plate 2b all had either on or off with no intermittant regardless of what front wipers did.

my mk2 sporting y reg the back wiper has an inyermittant setting. all depends on how fast my front ones are one. i can get a vid if no ones bleves me lmfao

one twist of the stalk and it wipes every 10/15 seconds.

this is interesting, gonna try it the next time it rains, which should be in about 10 mins with this 'summer' we are having.

i tested it with the front wipers on various settings just now on my way home and it doesn't affect the rear wiper at all.

lol. so is there still just one switch? just turn it once but the front wipers control the speed or something?

Thats strange that the punto seems to be going backwards in technology, :confused:did i mention i don't have power steering, airbags or ABS? only messing :D
