Alrite chaps and chapettes. I want to make my punto sound louder/better, to make it a bit more interesting, but dont really know how. I dont want to change the exhaust, as its a pretty new one anyway (bog standard admittedly). Any suggestions at all? Cheers (y)

id go for an induction kit, but then again i have never fitted one to a car.

i just rev my stilo hard and get a little turbo whistle from it - that sounds sporty enough lol :D

try to find a decent setup that wont slow you down either (y)

yeah i suppose an induction kit to give you a bit of engine noise... but an exhaust is really the way to go for sound... if youd got an exhaust from a sporting/ active sport they sound raspy rather than chavvy

:yeahthat:

your exhaust sounds nice tris :p, its a subtle raspy noise as opposed to wake the neighbours up chav style :D

I like the sporting exhaust idea - would all three sections of the exhaust need replacing for full effect? Could i get away with replacing just the rear section? I really wanna steer clear of the chavvy noise, just want like an amplified engine noise really.

its a one piece system i think but you could just get the back box and get it welded (not a big job), im sure they sound better because they have like a drainage hole of them. Amplified engine noise though... a GSR kit would definately give you that + more power ;) a K&N or similar would give you noise but a decrease in power!

Ta i had sig turned off! doh!
To be honest if you are going to buy a whole new system, you are best off getting a stainless steal one that will last the life of the car.

It wont fail on mot, but it could decrease performance but only slightly, as it will be sucking in more warm air from the engine bay.

theres no reason why it wouldnt pass an mot...just avoid drilling holes, go for an induction kit...i have a Air Intake on my uno and a s/s exhaust and it sounds sweet as low revs, just a smooth quiet rumble and then sportyy at high revs :)

Cool. I might go to a meet before i make any decisions, see what other people have got, and what theirs sound like. Thinking of going to that one on dec 1st actually. cheers for the input though, i got a lot to think about! (y)
