At least you got a car!! :(.

lol true true. but guess what the garage rang me and said they fixed it already, so i picked it up a few hours ago n its all working :) the mechanic said he ordered the black box thing in last week so he could fit it straight away. so overall fiat were terrible at booking me in (took about 3 weeks coz they weren't ringing me back) but very good at fixing. sweet.

Funny, I had exactly the same problem. It was working fine for the first 3 months and then one day it just started fuzzing, making it difficult to hear either people on the phone, or the Bluetooth lady. I was determined not to have to bring it back to the dealer so tweaked a few settings and the fuzzing stopped. But now, when I switch sources from RADIO to CD, there is an almighty difference in the volume. Annoyingly, I have to remember to quickly turn the volume down when switching from RADIO to CD to avoid deafining myself or smashing the windows!! Also whenever I skip between CD tracks, there's a really irritating interference noise that only sounds for a second or 2 before the music starts to play. One problem solved, and a whole new one to worry about. Damn it!

haha that sounds really annoying, you better get it sorted out! (y) i've noticed that the radio is usually a bit louder than my cd's but its nothin compared to what you're putting up with

I met the service manager this morning to express my "dissapointment" with the quality of work provided by his technician.

He has promised a full quality control inspection when the car goes back to them next tuesday. They will be replacing all the bolts visible holding the bumper, and the clips underneath.

Funnily enough, as we were speaking whilst looking at the car, I spotted the missing clip which was replaced by the hex nut. It was sticking out of my foglight:mad:
the last picture is of the clip. It's been broken.:(

I also noticed that the bumper has been creased a little (see the first 2 photos) compared to the other side.
I suppose i'll just have to touch up the chipped paint in this area.

The service manager said after i told him the pads still squeeked said that the pads would have been de-glazed the other day to remedy this. They squeeled because the car has more than likely been in a field or showroom for 6 months:eek: .
I said check your service bullitins:D

We'll see how it all works out next week.

can i just ask, my bluetooth thing is working fine now, but everytime i use it it starts off really quietly, i have to turn it up all the time. isnt there a way of setting a default volume? i tried that external volume thing in the menu but that didnt do anything :s

I have my external volume at 24. I can hear the voice just right at that level.

However, when the phone rings, the ringing tone is way too loud. Turning external volume down to 8 is about right, but then I can't hear the voice. I guess i'll have to have a too loud ringtone.:spin:

They had my car, again, yesterday and put the bumper back on properly.

There's still more issues though. They have not replaced the rubber cap that makes your headlights watertight on one headlamp, the battery was not secured with the strap, and a big blue connecter block near the passenger headlamp is just hanging around, not secured.

They must just collect spare parts when they reassemble cars at Lee and Turner. Amazing don't you think?
Surely, if you had something left over after putting it all back together, you'd wonder where it went, find out, then put it back.

The service manager "quality controlled" my car too. Some quality.
I'm just going to buy any missing parts, and sort any more sloppy work out myself. ;)

Anyway, the good news is, I fitted my xenons today:slayer:
I forgot how good they are. I had factory fitted ones on a golf before,
well worth the money.

check em out.

Those xenons look wicked - do having them fitted jeopardise the warranty?

Please elaborate on the details. How much did it cost to have done (fully fitted), what brand type xenons should we be looking at???

warranty should be fine. They are plug and play. Not wire cutting, and can be removed should you have any problems.

I bought them off ebay from china. £95. They arrived in 3 days. Quality is great. I went for 6000k

Check the guys feedback, everyone has been very happy.
They are bi-xenon, hi beam and low beam. I only had low beam in my golf.

I fitted them myself. The only problem was locating the ballast boxes. They are about the size of 2 cigarette packets stuck together. There aint a lot of room. Got there in the end though.
