Sadly no longer the owner of a Fiat. The Punto will be missed, and has been a fantastic car during 2.5 years ownership and never missed a beat.
For those interested I thought I'd give a breakdown of the costs during my ownership, doing 20,000 miles a year:
Bought the car 36 months ago for £6k with 27k miles on.
During that time it's had:
Service at £110
Service, pads and disks at £270
Cambelt and water pump change at £200
New Power steering column - £350
Two drop links and 2 rear shocks - £50 all in (fitted myself)
Sold with 75k miles on for £3.2k. Roughly equates to 6 pence per mile vehicle depreciation, 17 pence per mile fuel cost (36 MPG average at 117PPL), and 3 pence per mile for servicing/maintenance.
Total is 26p per mile. Don't think that's too bad really all in.
Now leasing an A1 (attached), got a deal I couldn't turn down. A big step up from the Fiat, and being a diesel should hopefully save me a few pennies.
I'm going to stick around though, don't think there's many forums online that are as good or helpful as this one.
