Hi Everybody
After a week with my Evo i'd like to share some of my thought/comments
Driving
After the last 3yrs with a big Italian diesel this is a big change in terms of the driving experience. I must say that i have been pleasantly suprised the car drives very firmly, feels tight no rattles or squeaks. To date i have not pushed this engine but it feels lively(105bhp multiair 16v)and if it's the same lump they put into the Mito it should be reliable
Economy
Just measured fill/fill at 47mpg dash says 47.8mpg mixed driving daily commute 65 miles 45 motorway 20 a/b roads plus last weekend running around stop start.
Equipment
Everything works perfectly including blue/Me handsfree(so far)
Bodywork
Finished in rosso frenato imo is stunning with skirts and badges perfect.

I look forward to speaking to people on the forum and share some experiences with our cars(y)

Stef

Bodywork
I know the car is just 3yrs old this month and with only 23k on the clock

Thanks James
i'm learning already, Is your car the same colour as mine and what looks like the same wheels .Same car but withan 8 valve engine?

Stef

not wanting to scare you, but when servicing or when topping up oil, make sure that you use 5w40 that meets fiat 955535-S2 otherwise that nice shiny multiair unit will fail.

Otherwise, happy motoring :)

Hi Scoop
i have used Catrol edge in recent years. I know it meets VW/Audi spec, this should be ok in 5/40 form?

Hello all,

I have just taken delivery of a brand new Punto 1.3 Multijet Lounge 3 door in Underground Grey. When I drove it out of the dealership it had 1 mile on the clock! My delight in having a brand new vehicle faded the next day as when I got into the car to go to work, turned the key and.........nothing! Everything dead only all the warning lights flashing at me. Called the dealership, only to be told all their mechanics were busy, suggested that I call the breakdown service which is included in the warranty. Breakdown truck arrived 2 hours later, jump started the car. Drove to the dealership and started to complain.......I left the car with them, they gave me a courtesy car so I could go to work. The work they did in the end was, replaced the battery, due to a faulty one fitted to the car at the factory, replaced both windscreen wipers which were split, fixed the undertray beneath the car which had a bolt missing from it and was flapping about, and the odometer was flashing, oh and the bluetooth was not working! I picked up the car yesterday and after all seems fine now. It has left me with a nagging question, was the PDI check carried out before I collected the car? I think not, it should have raised a suspicion with just 1 mile on the clock as it obviously had not been road tested. The dealer has ordered me some mats and promised a full tank of fuel as some recompense. Happy Days! The car is lovely and I am now looking forward to using it. I just hope this is a one-off due from the dealer.

Hi Chris
it's very dissapointing to hear of your issues. I agree with you clearly the PDI has not been carried as not so many years ago both Alfa and Fiat had a major re vamp of their dealerships due to issues like yours and basic customer care.

With the Punto multijet i have hired one of these on my last 2 visits to Italy and found them to be an excellent work horse(i wasn't kind to mine)although this year i'm giving the new Panda a go.
