Hi,

Ducato 2.8 JTD on an 02 plate.

literally the dipped headlights and main beam aren't working. Side lights are fine. When i turn the switch to dipped the main beam indicator lights up (even though the stalk is not down). Obviously flash doesn't work either.

Indicators are fine and hazard lights are ok too.

When trying to put full beam on i can hear a click (which i guess is a relay) under the dashboard (under the glovebox). I think i can hear a very light/dull click also when turning the lights from sidelights to dipped headlights.

Not sure whether the main beam indicator actually means anything but would really appreciate some guidance. Obviously it being near xmas means limited places to go get this looked at so restricted to daytime driving.

I'd love to try and fix this myself just to save some cash.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

cheers.

Rich

In my opinion the relay for the main beam causes the problem.

Attached some info from my Ducato 230 2000 (LHD)

The relay's are under the glove box.
One of the relay's on the picture is for the main beam, nut sure which one.
You can pull out some and look what happens.

In the wiring diagram you can follow the connection by the colors.
Red - orange - green - dipped beam
Red - orange - bleu - main beam.

Fuse 7 - dipped beam left
Fuse 8 - dipped beam right
Fuse 9 - main beam left + control lamp
Fuse 10 - main beam right

Hope this can help you a little.
