CINQUECENTO DASHBOARD CLOCK WANTED - PLEASE PM ME

Well I can't really comment as ERM is only a vague memory. But I do remember it was the best thing that ever hapened to the UK economy - the end of the last bust and beginning of the current and ongoing boom (so says Gordy). About the only thing Normy ever did right but the best thing he ever did. If we hadn't done it, god knows what kind of a state the economy would be in now.

I will vote tory as my poloitics are towards the right not left. Basically the tories are for those who take care of themselves and labour are for those who sponge! Ill say no more as it will end up being a long and heated debate, such as how to avoid the terrorist attacks we are certain to have...:(

Labour/Conservative/Lib Dem, who cares? they are all as bad as each other. At least you folks have proper politics where votes aren't based on religion and parties at least attempt to have policies. Tony Blair is untrustworthy, he's lied time and again and he'll continue to do this. The tories are as bad if not worse.

I agree with you nuovopanda, personal responsibility should play a far bigger role in all aspects of life. In answer to Donz' point, I've never met anyone who hasn't told a lie and I tell them day in day out in my job - why should politicians be any different?

So long as governing the country is done by humans, human nature will come into it, including lying to get out of trouble. Same as any job or part of human nature really.

That is so true, as soon as youre cought out the basic instinct is to lie; it cant be helped. However, to lie in order to deceive is different and politicians do that all the time, and voters never seem to see it coming! Thats life:D

The only times a politician admits they lied is in their resignation speech or in their memoires once they've retired.

Well seems I'm the first person on here to vote for Labour. I think they've done a reasonable job, yes made lots of mistakes and annoyed a lot of people but as people have said all governments do that. if I thought the Tories would do better I would vote for them, but they wouldn't. All they can do at the moment is point out Labour's mistakes, but the truth is they don't even seem to have any proposals for doing it better.

If I could choose who would run the country I would have Ken Livingstone, no question. He may have the most irritating voice in the land but everything he says is damn right, in my opinion. Look how Blair had to beg to get him back in the party, just because he is so popular.

I would have voted for Mr Bush (oh, I mean Mr Blair, sorry) if they hadn't done the following:

Lied in their manifesto and implemented tuition fees
Gone to Iraq on lies, suicide and more lies.

Now I might be a lib dem but worried such apathy towards elections could lead to the BNP or other twits getting in. My MP is a Labour whip, he "whipped for Iraq" and "whipped for tuition fees". He never replies to my letters and gets someone else to reply to my emails and just signs it. My local counciller (lab) is good but my MP will get a shouting at if I see him.

Just my POV.

Looks like we're in for a long resignation speech when Mr Blair leaves!

Yes it is not good that they lied in their manifesto about those things, even though I support both Iraq and top-up fees. However I don't think that's a Labour problem its a fundamental problem of a Democracy.

In order to get in power any party has to produce a manifesto that is better than their opponents'. Yes Labour lied but guess what the Tories say they will sort out every problem with everything Labour has done. Can they actually do this? Not a chance. In event they get in power (and I think there is a chance this time) a few years down the line they too will have failed to deliver. Democracy is a stupid system, trouble is the only better one is a dictatorship:D.

I don't mind being a dictator...
