This may sound like a daft question(it's along story).

If the standard Fiat Cd player is fitted, does it switch on and off when the car is started/stopped or does it remain on when the car stops and have to be switched off manually then switched on again when the car is restarted.
And at night is it illuminated when switched off i.e. can you see the on/off button in the dark?

I told you it was a daft question but please humour me.

:) Hi there. I have a Dynamic model with the standard Radio/cassette but I assume the CD/radio behaves the same way. When I am listening to the radio and come to stop the car it switches off completely with the ignition, along with headlights and everything else. When I come to start up again it comes back on at the same channel etc. You can also switch it on with the engine off and use it that way if you are just sitting in the car etc.
The 'on/off button is illuminated at night if it's not in use but no other buttons.

This set up is different from my 2001 Punto and much better I find. In that car the radio was totally independent of the ignition and you had to switch it off after turning the engine off which annoyed me.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for that.
That covers all my questions and is what I expected it should be.

Thanks again.

If your radio is staying on when you turn off your engine, it might be set to switch off 20 minutes after you turn off the engine. You can programme it to switch off with the engine in the options...
