Hello Everyone, I have a new shape 03 panda elaganza and the lights keep cutiing out intermitantly. It also seems to get worse when you use the indicators!!!!! Has anyone had the same problem??? I would appreciate some help and avoid a big garage bill etc.

Thanks

do you mean the main headlights? or any others? including internal ones, like the dash?

sounds like a problem inside the steering wheel, with a connector, i think there was a similair issue raised, a long time ago, something along the lines of the part is shared with the punto, and can fail, as for a fix, cant remember what they did, either replace or repair

There's a Service News regarding the stalk unit, if the wiring tests out ok, the fix is a new stalk unit (internal microswitch/circuitry issues).

Need to go to your dealer (Service News is 55.09.07).

Many thanks for your help. Can you tell me where I can view this service news???Thanks Paul.

Hi everyone,

Buddyboy, were you able to get this sorted out?

I've got exactly the same problem here and with winter just around the corner it's quite a dangerous problem to have! (What happened to the summer this year ?!)

I've got my Panda Dynamic booked in tomorrow so I'll be bringing a print-out of this thread and seeing what they say. Hopefully it won't cost too much to fix :)

Did anyone get a solution to this?

My Mrs has a 2006 Panda dynamic 1.2 petrol and last night she reported that on the way home, on each significant bump, the headlights went out and came back on again straight away.

I have the car booked in for next week (and to have the "groaning" power steering fixed) - so any pointers would be very useful.

Thanks!

Hi Creamola,

Well I finally got mine fixed last week. They had to order a column switch and it cost me about £210 including VAT and labour. It seems to be completely fixed, but for me the lights only cut out when indicating.

Just got the car back from the garage today. In the end, they were not sure what the problem was and couldn't reproduce it (apparently tapping the switch in the steering column normally triggers it) so they changed the switch in any case. Only time will tell if it is fixed.

If anybody else is having this problem, apparently in terms if diagnostics, it's helpful to note if it is just the dipped or full headlights going off AND if the headlight indicator on the dash goes out at the same time.

Luckily, mine was still under warranty - so no charge.
