One page 9 of the Panda manual there's a pic of the 'Code Card' which should come with your car. It has an 'emergency start' code for the immobiliser, which should get you going if the immobiliser fails to read the key.

Did all you other Panda owners get a Code Card with your car, because I didn't.

I foresee a trek to the dealers.....

yep i do recall getting one....but i'm not sure where it is....bugger:bang:

edit : ok, i've found a card, but it appears to be for the radio, it's made of card, grey print, about 4 times the size of a credit card

Yes, that's the one. Anyone else got theirs?

In the UK as a result of an agreement between Fiat and the insurance companies these cards are not issued to the customer but retained by ?the dealer.
Abroad it may be different but UK owners, don't panic.

My dealer hasn't called me back after two calls trying to get a copy of 'my' code. It's no good having a code in England and a car in France...:bang:

edit: Oh, a little detective work has traced the immobiliser codes to the International Security Register:

"Value added service
The high level of security offered by the ISR allows other information such as radio codes and wheel nut, alarm, immobiliser and ignition key numbers to be provided without delay to police, franchised motor dealers and other authorised parties, under strict security protocols."

here: http://www.retainagroup.com/fr_vehicle.htm

But if the owners can be trusted with both sets of keys, why can't they be trusted with the immo codes?

duh

Dealers do not retain the cards, when the need requires(working on certain systems on customers cars)they get codes from ISR as mentioned above.

pandissimo ask your dealer for a replacement card...£3.00 but takes 2-3 days to arrive at dealer for pick up.

Uh, ok, but I don't want a replacement card, I want the ORIGINAL. I don't want to pay £3.00 for something I own.

I don't want to have to drive 40 miles to visit my Fiat Dealer, because the guy on the service desk makes starving rats look civilised. He is rude to the point of a B52 strike. He does for customer service what Saddam Hussein did for the Kurds....

Any youse UK guys get your code card with the car? Me neither..

:shakehead

Please, please, don't make me go visit my Fiat Dealer......

No card supplied with mine, nor the new Punto i bought before. They are not supplied with UK models. Insurance companies over here were not keen on the idea?

The stuff about insurance companies is ********!

OK. You're right. We're gonna git in dat ole hoss an' ride into town, and confront that M-F£$£"$^&*&^-ing dealer and get our F$%^%$$-ing card.

Yessir. We don't take no $$%^$^&it from them Fiat Dealers.

I do hope they're not rude to me like last time...:shakehead

Phone them & explain the situation as sometimes the card doesn't arrive at dealership so you dont want to blame them for something that was not their fault.....then you would have to apologise!!!

"Hi its Mr pandissimo here,I never recieved my code card with my panda, could you send one out to me please"
"well are you paying for it?"
"No because it should be with car documents but its not there,it would be a nice gesture if you could order one & send it out to be"
"ok mr pandissimo seeing as you are being polite & are a customer,we will order it & send it out soon, thank you"
"Thank you aswell Mr Dealership"

Job done & everyone happy:hug:
