2012 Panda Easy, despite the stalk position being 'off' the dipped lights (and tail lights) are on at all times the engine's running (including showing the green 'dipped beam' light on dashboard.

It should be just the sidelights are on as running lights I believe.

Thinking I may have accidentally done something (in one of the menus maybe? could it be a setting for countries that require full illumination during the day – Finland maybe?), but at a bit of a loss and appreciate any ideas.

I think someone else on here complained of this? Try a 'search this forum' search.

Some countries (most of Scandinavia for a start) do required head and tail lights on at all times, and for them, Daytime Running Lights (which is not the sidelights but a brighter filament in the same bulb) isn't enough. I don't think you can alter this from the car's dashboard menus though

[later, through the power of 'search this forum], see here https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-iii/440986-panda-2012-headlights-problem.html

The 2012 Easy goes into main dealer (who sold me the car) on Wednesday to investigate dipped headlights which are always on. It's pain having to get there so I really hope it is quick and painless fix, especially as the car has to go live in the North soon.

Fiat Motor Village Croydon (supplying used dealer) took car in for 24 hours (overnight) and fixed it. Said it just needed further software update. No mention of new stalk or switch needed. This was related to recall 5958. Hopefully that is it for good.

Fiat Aylesford (which would have been nearer) wanted c£100 to diagnose the problem, which understand I would then have had to claim back on warranty.
