Hi all
I've taken to driving my Panda 4x4 in Eco mode for the station run. Over 4-5 miles starting from cold at 15-40mph with some stop start for a few lights etc it is a lot smoother and forgiving to drive. Why should this be?
For pressing on or at higher speed then I switch it off.
Whilst I still love the Panda and use it all the time, my Mrs' X3 3.0 still records a better average consumption than the Panda!
This is partly because I do a lot of short local drives (as she does too) and when I do do longer runs it is so difficult not to 'blat it' and drive enthusiastically...
As to problems, there are two intermittent ones:
On the coldest recent days, for maybe 30 seconds from starting the car, the engine only just manages to idle and will not respond to the throttle at all. Then it picks up and goes back to normal. This has happened 3 times.
Stop-start failing to restart. Again, not all the time.
I guess I should call the garage to take a look.
All the best
