Hi folks.

Finally got time to diagnose my Sisley starting issues (issue being it wouldn't start :p!) having been sorned for a few months, and it turns out that the fuel hose under the airbox was knackered - the fuel came out sideways, so I guess I'm fortunate nothing was working & therefore didn't ignite

Anyway I'm quite happy to have solved (ish) the problem, but does anyone know the exact diameter of the fuel pipes? These are the ones going to & from the fuel pump on the 999 Fire engine. I've looked in manuals etc but can't find this info & it seems there are loads of different sizes out there.

Any help gratefully received! :worship:

Many thanks, Gavin.

Many thanks - spot on. 8mm and new hose is marked 5/16 (y)

Local firm have it on a roll, and it cost about £5 for 1m (enough for 3 Panda's I think), in fact the new hose clips cost more!!

Anyone with an ageing Panda (that's all of them :p ) would do well to check the hose as mine had perished just where it's not visible under the airbox. Easy fix and save yourself a big problem.

Cheers, Gavin.

Remember when it went on the 750L, 19mpg from lowestoft to croydon, and worked out why when we pulled the bonnet. No fires luckily.

Was the fabric skinned one on ours. Easy enough to change, just cut the correct length and not a peiece to big and kink it, as we then had issues when it got blocked 18months later :p

Good point - I wonder if the fuel economy will improve when I put it back on the road - it had got a bit worse if I recall correctly......

Will make sure to avoid kinky rubber (hoses ;) ) - thanks for the tip (y)

Cheers, Gavin.

It's the rubber hose from fuel line to fuel pump, and fuel pump to throttle body. I was amazed at how bad it was - I guess they go brittle and crack over time.
caused havoc on mine, started to perish on Grumbleweed and drop tiny flakes of rubber into the fuel and block the idle jet in the carb. Drove me nuts until I worked out what it was.
