Finally got a green one for the 1000S... (see 'What have you done...' thread) however while I was waiting for the guy to print it out (bit of a tense moment 'cos he never said a word - just glanced down dissapprovingly at my 'no sharp edges' taped-up doors... :p) I noticed a puddle under the front and coolant pissing out from under the front of the engine : that bloody water pump was new on last year
Thing is, I had to change the rad last week and I may have overfilled the cooling system - with nowhere to go (unlike 4x4 that has a header tank) maybe the water pump seal was the weakest link under pressure..? was fine on way back from test centre with temp gauge reading well below 90 and not leaked at all now it's back on the drive...
Can't understand it as I've had it well up to temperature since fitting the rad... so why wet itself all over the garage floor (maybe just nerves...?)
Only other thing to mind was the seal at the coolant steel pipe at back of waterpump - but that would still be leaking surely..?
Any ideas anyone? Don't think I can face going through all that overheating again like last year...
