Hi everyone, I cant remember if I asked this already before and cant seem to find anything on it using the search....

The lancia Y10 anti roll bar fits the panda's, but what I am thinking about is fitting it to the 4x4 and seeing how it affects the handling. I understand that it can upset cars that were'nt designed to have them. That asside, I dont mind getting one and finding it doesnt work either as it will be put to use at some point anyway.

My main question is, where the bar bolts on is, from what i remeber, exactly where the sump guard on the 4x4 fits. So is it possible to keep the sump guard and have an anti roll bar fitted? A question for Damon really I supose, or any of the other memers who have fitted one of these rare hop up items!

Cheers,
Si

I know what you are talking about intimately, but don't know how the sump guard attaches as I've never studied a 4x4. If you could supply a photo, I could probably tell you. Seems likely that interference with the actual bar, rather than the mountings is most likely.

I have a spare anti-roll bar and the y10 tie-rod brackets that you will also need if you don't already have a source.

Awesome! That would be most excellent, attached a photo of my dirty disgusting underside lol. The engine is so messy these days, in dia need of a rebuild and service. That asside you can see where the sump guard bolts on. My fear is it attaches where the tie rods are and wouldnt accomodate the sump guard.

Assuming all would fit, how much would you want for the roll bar and brackets? If I can get it off someone here that would be better. :)

Cheers,
Si

I think it's 50/50 whether it would fit. The bar bends sharply inboard before the point at which your guard bolts on and I think there is a chance it will avoid it. BTW, before when I said Y10 tie rod brackets, I forgot that the bracket is one part with the rod of course.
Anyway, I am at Gaydon tomorrow - my car is red with Italian stripes over the whole car. I would have to make a detour to pick up the bar, but if you are interested in buying it, perhaps it would be worth my while. Cost is £50 which reflects the rarity of these things.

Cool, yes I would agree that £50 is fair. As long as its in working order so to speak! Would be great if you could bring it along. I'll see you tomorrow and will bring cash. You'll hear my car coming a mile off I am sure, the new exhaust is a bit over the top  (NB when asking a custom exhaust builder for a "sport" exhaust expect doom and thunderrrr!!)

Thanks again, this makes my search for it one hell of a lot easier.

Cheers,
Si

WHY AREN'T YOU LOT IN BED IF YOU HAVE SO FAR TO GO.

My Panda is undergoing ROTSTERATION!!~~Has doors of a different colour

See you tomorrow

Further to the conversation we had earlier Lewey If Pandamonius doesn't wan't the anti roll bar I do!! (I expect many have their names down before me but If you get that far down the list give me a P.M. if it is still available...)

Good to meet you and see you next time!(y)

Luke.

Fair enough!! See you in the New Forest I hope! :)

From what you were saying whatever I do it'll be cheaper to buy one from Fiat rather than make one; I reckon developing a good one could cost much more. You and Damon mentioned that there were 2 stock ones; which do you reckon would work with a 1994 CLX? Any idea of part numbers or should I just get off my ass & check eper!?:p

Thanks again, Luke.

They made one for the FIRE cars and one for the GTie which was heavier, so needed a thicker bar. I would suggest the thinner bar is what FIAT/Lancia thought was good for the same weight as your car, but the GTie bar would have a more dramatic effect.

FIRE - 7578821
GTie - 7672272

Cheers Lewey, I'll get that onto the top of the birthday list!!

I think I'll probably go for the lighter one but not sure; Planned spec is 1242 16v engine and wider tyres, lowered and built as a fast daily drive...

What do you think?

Luke (y)

Howdy ya'll,

Was a great day messing about in panda's. Thanks again lewis, once I get it fitted perhaps I'll show you all how a panda should really handle :p....or die trying....I'm jumping the gun. It might not fit. Time will tell, I'll excavate the thread when the time comes.
