So here is the problem: the car all of a sudden just lost power and left me stranded on the side of the road, so had it towed in to the mechanics. They have no idea what the problem could be, it's firing from the coil packs onto the spark plugs, the injectors are pulsing properly,there is compression in the engine, even set timing again, still no power at all I'll be lucky to get 20Km's/H out of her.

So I was hoping some of you guys could have an idea of what the problem could be. Could the computer box give a problem like this or a bent valve maybe or broken crank??? I am flabbergasted and just grabbing at straws now so any help would be appreciated.:bang::bang::bang::bang:

so if you press the accelerator, does the motor splatter, misfire but the rev don't increase? is it idling ok? it could be the throttle position sensor, loose wire or broken

She idles fine and revs go up when i push on the accelerator during idling, but the moment I put the car into gear and want to drive her revs don't go up at all, even when the pedal is flat on the floor... It's almost like there is no fuel going through, or when you have a dead plug. But checked that already and everything is firing and there is petrol going through...

in the old days that was caused by bad timing setup spark plug would fire to early or to late have you changed your timing belt? also there is a phase sensor near the timing belt that detect where all the valves are at any time I have some diagrams (in spanish) let me look for it

I had a similar issue whilst rebuilding my palio 1.2 would idle fine but soon as I added load I'd almost stall and had no power but lots of misfires. I found it to be a fueling issue as spark and compression were fine. Changed the fuel filter and bled the air out of the fuel lines and that seems to have sorted that. Still a work in progress though

Does the engine idles well ? (no stalls or drops in rpm) is it a manual or an automatic transmission, can you put the car in any gear and can you press the clutch pedal, what does it feel soft, normal, stiff ?

I would suspect the clutch system or the transaxle (it is a front wheel drive I believe ?)
