Hey All

Just managed to get one as a courtesy car whilst my Stilo is having its camshaft variator replaced.

First impressions? Bit too Japanese for me, there are design specs that have blatently come out of the Suzuki design house, and for a European-Car loving person I'm not liking as much. The plastics have been put over to durability rather than quality, an aspect which I suppose works better on this sort of car.

Rear legroom is impressive, boot space is average I suppose. Engine feels perky off the mark but lacks torque, noticable around Torquay's hills. Gearbox is excellent, as are clutch and brakes. Feels very solid and commanding to drive.

Overall? Not bad at all, forget the usual italian interior as it ain't happening, but the Sedici is an excellent entry-point for FIAT into the 4x4 market. Only thing I really hate is the dreadful key; it's big enough to be a key to a city!!!

they not doing the clicky foldy key anymore?

saw one at brooklands that a fiat head office bod brought down, quite impressed by space, layout and seat height, ergonomically felt very good indeed

No the key is out and out Japanese, the blade looks like the one off my other bro's 92 Toyota HiLux Surf! It's huge!

Also, the FIAT logo's blue backing on the steering wheel is different to any other FIAT, it's like a metallic electric blue as opposed to the dark blue and white circled pattern I'm used to.

Had a look at a sedici at LC Motors today and was very very impressed indeed and the key will make it easier for the wife to find as she is always losing heres :chin:

It's built on the Suzuki Swift platform, by Suzuki, in Hungary. Styled by Guigiaro. The interior is generic modern Japanese and none the worse for that, and the petrol engine is a Suzuki unit. The Diesel is the JTD. Only the front bumper panels differentiate them, although the Suzy can be had in 2wd form.
A very good car, but I wonder if the Suzuki version mightn't have the better guarantee?
