Hi all I have a fiat ducato 2.8jtd engine 2004 in a motorhome the problem I have is that the reversing light and sensors have now started to sometimes work and sometimes not, a car electrician that I know fitted a new gearbox switch/sensor but the same problem continued, he has suggested that the linkage in the gearbox is worn and not operating the switch properly the engine has only done 13,000 miles so I find that hard to accept, he also said to check the oil level in the gearbox, would that make a difference? one thing that I have noticed is that if the ignition is left on and put in reverse gear after 1 or 2 minutes the reversing light comes on and the sensors work normally. any thoughts on this problem would be much appreciated, cheers, peter.
