How y'all doing? [emoji6]
So here's the thing: i was having "zen moment" (cleaning my car, you all know how it feels like XD). I was cleaning the engime bay and i noticed (where it's marked on the first photo) a loosed cable. I thought i took it off by accident (or something... I don't know). I inspected and i couldn't find anything that would connect to it. I even started the car and tested everything and nothing was wrong.

I'm more curious than worried, but still... I would like to know.
Thanks in advance to you all [emoji16] IMG_20190706_154350.jpegIMG_20190621_203649.jpegIMG_20190621_203705.jpegIMG_20190621_203656.jpeg

It must be an aftermarket alarm then. How does your remote look like? You do have a seperate remote, don't you?

Many puntos were delivered with an unused plug that comes out of the very thick wiring between the gearbox and engine. The plug cannot be lifted as high as your photos unless the thick wiring is pulled much higher somehow.

The original route of the thick wiring makes it bend down towards the starter motor as it follows the shape of the battery and fits into the clips on the battery.

Your plug looks like the same unused plug as the other puntos.

That plug you mention is probably the speed sensor's plug, which is unused in models with ABS.

The OP's plug is the optional horn. Main optical difference between the two unused connectors, not to mention their location:
horn: 4 pins
speed sensor: 3 pins

There should be an unused connector near the bonnet release latch under the bonnet, at the front. And some others, depending on the features.

Sorry for delayed response.

It's a Meta System alarm. Didn't they come as an option back then? Now i am very curious...

And i think you might be right. I have 2 keys: one with the button in the back and one without it (both marked in blue). And i also have two round remotes as well (marked in green and one of them is kinda broken. That's why it has tape around it). These were the keys that my grandpa always had and never bothered to ask him about it. The owners manual only talks about the key with the button...

Thanks for the clarification! Yes my car has ABS.

:)

Mine is a 1.2 16v Sporting 2001 Mk2 & has ABS & that e act unused plug (identical to yours) & another at the front by the bonnet release catch, so it’s not for ABS
