Hi guys,

I own a fiat 500, and was just wondering whether you might be able to advise.

Basically I'm looking to purchase a full length mirror, and its about 5ft 7 in height. Do you think that if I collapse the back seats and also push the passenger seat as far forward as I can, that it will fit in the car?

If anyone can help that will be great!

Thanks,
Anna

I've just carried a superking headboard in a Panda; that's 180cm long (just under 6ft).

The technique was to recline the passenger seat and leave the back seats in situ; it rested on the top of the back seat and the dashboard. You'll need suitable padding if you don't want to risk damaging the dash or the rear window - take plenty of mats/blankets. There was room in the back for a passenger.

The tailgate slopes more acutely on the 500, but you might be able to do something similar if you fold the passenger side rear seat as well. Be sure it'll clear the rear screen before shutting the tailgate.

It likely won't fit behind the passenger seat, however far you move it forward.

The limiting issue is likely to be the width - you need enough space left to be able to drive safely.

Also be sure to place the mirror with the mirrored side toward the floor, or you'll risk being seriously disoriented by the reflection. For the same reason, always carry a large mirror so that you can't see the mirrored surface.

Before driving away, do a final safety check. Make certain the mirror won't move, that you can operate all the controls and that you have sufficient visibility.

Roof rack would come in handy. I wonder if that can be done on the 500?
