Isn't the important bit of info the miles done and range. What the gauge shows is a bit of a red herring and not worth arguing about. The range seems to be calculated on mpgs over a fairly short distance so if you have done high mpgs and then give it the full beans the range will not correspond to the mpgs on the trip. What bplanky500 is saying makes sense giving almost 450 miles from a tank. This morning my TA 105 was showing 125 miles travelled with a range of 225 i.e. exactly 450. Mpgs were showing 47.9 and average speed 29.7. Mix of traffic and motorway. Some motorway at 70 and some (M25 !!!) at 60. However, did my 7 mile commute this morning and the range went down to 300 miles. Damn the traffic!

I liked, it was 592 miles.

I did about 260 miles before it went down to showing 5/8ths of a tank, but when the tank first shows 3/4 of a tank then that means it's at 3/4 and going down, so you can be showing 3/4 of a tank and actually have less fuel in the tank than that.

Ah I remember now, that was good going alright. Going on a 250 mile trip down south in a few weeks so gonna do an eco drive and see what I can stretch it too, got 67mpg before over about 60 miles so should be able to get close to that if I have the patience!

I went 600 miles on a brimmed tank and was ten miles from running out of fuel (I've done this before as well!) and there is absolutely no way you're going to go 800 miles on a tank. It just isn't going to happen.

Yep, when the computer said I'd got 60 miles left that's exactly how far I got before running out. I reset the trip as soon as the range read"----" and it said that I'd done 60 miles when I ran out, 400 yards from a petrol station! Lesson learnt.
