car revs up on its own i am advised it could be ECU can any 1 give me some more advise and does any 1 know what it would cost to fix

went to fiat today the car checked out the fault is the Potentiometer
total cost was £230.73 fitted thought the price was really high but have paid to it to get the car on the road

had a price for timing belts today from fiat £179.00 fitted ?
had a price for a new coded key as well £109.00 wow so high
had a price for dianostic check £62.50 wow so high

helo mate. that sounds like its your idle stepper motor or another word for it (idle control valve). it either needs cleaning with means taking it out and spraying it and inside with carb cleaner. that should most definete work. if not then you need a new one. if you clean it though make sure the engine is on when you do it. HAS THIS HELPED MATE

fiat dont stock this part in uk got to wait 1 month before i can have it fitted i am not happy with fiat service any 1 know were i can get 1
