I would like to present my multipla that was a little bit tuned with a help from my friend.

First of all it was standard 105hp JTD version.

We decided to upgrade CF2 engine to CF3 because it has more potential.
We put new injectors, VGT turbocharger and ECU from Alfa 156.

Here you see difference between old (on the left) and new (on the right) turbine.

Some soldering was needed to adapt CF3 ECU.

Next thing we wanted to do was to mount 6-speed gearbox.

We needed to adapt hydraulic clutch pedal (this time from Alfa 166).

Here you can see current revs at 120 kph (about 75 mph).

And finally some styling:

List of changes:
- engine upgrade from CF2 to CF3 (turbine, ECU, injectors)
- some chip tuning
- instrument panel upgrade
- 6-speed gearbox
- steering wheel from Alfa 147
- rear disc brakes from Alfa 146
- 17-inch alloy wheels from Fiat Stilo (with 20mm wheel spacers)
- original styling kit from Zender

To do:
- some more chip tuning (to about 160hp and 350Nm)
- cruise control (it's almost done but needs another ECU to check if it works)
- maybe some repainting or wrapping
- ...

The gearbox mount with '147 1.9 JTD' written on it - is it from a 147 - presumably just the mount?

Have you put a more detailed thread on this swap on the Polish Multipla site? I'd like to look at this in detail as it looks a great idea. Leaving the 6 speed 'box mated to a 16V 150hp from a 147 sounds like a really good idea.... :D

The gearbox is actually from Alfa 166 but it needed some modifications (alfa 166 has different back mount than 156). Gearbox from alfa 156 or fiat marea should fit without modifications. And only mounts are from alfa 147.

I didn't put any tutorial on our Polish forum. This is not my idea and I don't know all technical informations (my friend helped me to make this swap - he has 1.9 16V at about 200hp). BTW you can use 16V engine only from alfa 156.

Is that a whole new front bumper, or 2 'quarters' fitted over the existing bumper? Difficult to tell from here, because of the black paint...
Didn't know you could get bodykit for Multi, changes the whole look of the front end(y)

Sorry I just looked again at the photo of you spraying them, obviously whole bumpers. Doh..

Is yours an original Abarth one?

Can't say I'm that keen on the rear one. The creases in it look too fussy. Given the choice, I'd go with the Abarth at the front and one from a square-nose on the rear. It's just a shame that square-nose ones don't fit the round-nose

Yes, it is original. I also prefer the look of back bumper from new model. But I wanted to keep it original.

It fits with almost no problem. There is only a little modification needed on the corners of bumber.

This is my friend's car:

Very nice. Has it got HID headlights? Looks as though there's something a bit non-standard in there. He's got the proper Abarth alloys as well. Very hard to find in the UK. I've only ever seen one set for sale on ebay. Btw, what make are the alloys on your car?

It seems like the Multipla is popular with custom builders in Poland!

Yes, he's got HID lights and daylight running lights instead of fog lamps (I have the same).

I have 17" Fiat Stilo Speedline alloys (Fiat make). They are much easier to find in Poland and cheaper. I have two sets of them - one for summer and one for winter.

Multipla isn't that popular. There are maybe 4-5 tuned multiplas in Poland (at least 4 with 6-speed gearbox, one with 2.0 VT engine, one with 1.9 16V Mjet).

This one is also nice (18" alloys, and big brakes at front):

And this one also looks quite good :)

Front bumper you can get from there:
http://www.car-performance-bodykit.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/374 (BTW. This is one of our polish multiplas on the picture).
Rest of the kit is very hard to find. Sometime you can find cars with this kit on our auction services: http://otomoto.pl/fiat-multipla-fajne-autko-z-gazem-C31231946.html
They come mainly from Germany. I think it is almost impossible to find these parts separately.

I did only wrapping. Another friend of mine did painting (on the photo).

Really like the gearbox change. I suspect next year I will have to do the DMF and clutch. If its easy to change the gearbox at that time.. well... I might investigate :)

Hi there,
i'm impressed of your big brake conversions for Multipla. I also have one and I'm working on this project a while ago. My question is how did you solved the master brake cylinder on those cars? I assume to change it would be necessary. What is your experience and if needed, what would fit into the Multipla smoothly?
Thanks for any info on this subject.
