Technical ERG cproblems, need picture of where it is etc

hi forum
back again with another problem.
Found a post from 2005 (again!) that fits my problem exactly, ERG problems.
Can anyone provide me with photos or video of where it is and how to get to it.
I'm selleing her and want her to be tip top condition before i advertise her.
Great car but downsizing.

EGR is located top right of the cylinder head, can't post pictures as missus is visiting the outlaws today.
Pretty easy to find, it has one electrical connector and has a small 30mm'ish concertina hose visible which connects to the inlet manifold.
You will need good allen keys and/or 1/4" socket set as the securing bolts are quite tight and rounding them off is not an option!
Alternatively, you can take the solenoid off and try cleaning just the valve.

hi, i have attached pic of a typical egr valve (yours may not have the
plastic part, but all in metal).
as said , standing at front of car looking at engine, it is located at the back of the engine towards the top on the right hand side.
(just to the right of the fiat logo badge-look down and there it is on right hand side at back of manifold).
take off with allen keys and give a good clean

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the help, photos,advice and guidance.

The checking machine was put on the car and showed nothing wrong!
But I have asked the mechanic to do the job, as boo deffo has a big big problem!

I have a mechanic collecting her tomorrow to do the job, (hubby's disability prevents him doing it).

Fingers crossed it will solve the issues.

Just printing of the piccy for him.

Will let you all know the outcome.

Thanks everyone for photos and help.

I did have the job done, my mechanic cleaned the ERG and got a huge amount of stuff out. He indicated the size of a melon and one eight of an inch deep.
I drove the car and at first no hold back, then had some chugging, then had 2 huge clouds of smoke from the exhaust which made the cars behind back off!

Then she ran absolutley fine, so it was the problem. Drove her for 2 weeks to enusre all was fine. It was.

Now my beloved boocar has a new home.

Miss her like crazy, but thats life. So keep up the good work guys, this forum has been amazing for me and I thank you all for the advice.
