got myself a cheap sony head unit however when u switch ignition off the memory loses all stored stations etc, remeber i had this prob on my old calibra and all it was was to swap a couple o wires over

does anyone know if this works for the multipla if so what colours is it

should be the yellow and red on the wiring harness plugged into the stereo. usually have bullet connectors on them to enable to swap.

If you have a multi meter or test light you can double check by seeing which one has battery volts all the time and which has battery volts only when ignition is on.:)

cheers mate

how do u actually take the connectors out the block i always struggle when i try to take them out

;) I don't remove them the block. I chop 'em and then put bullet, spade or similar connectors on them. It's easy then to swap them about (yellow to red etc.) Hope that made sense! (y)

if thers no bullet connectors on the red (usually permanent live) and yellow(usually ignition live) wires then you'll have to test them first to make sure. then if they are the wrong way round you'll have to cut them and connect them with suitable electrical connectors. Make sure if you do have to chop and swap that when you connect them up they are properly insulated with no bare wires exposed VERY IMPORTANT you dont want an electrical fire.
In my experience the 2 power feeds - red and yellow - will have inline connectors as standard to get round the problem you have.
